A few friends and I were at a funeral last week.
It was amazing how much everyone cared,
We couldn't find the courage to open our mouths and speek.
It seemed like hours into her open coffin we stared.
Just a few days before she was beautiful and unique,
For this, no one was prepared.
Her wonderful life deemed too good to be true,
with fabulous family and friends,
her brown curly hair and eyes greenie blue.
The unfortunate kids she always defends,
And the hugs to people she hardly knew.
From here her story transcends...
Day by day she seemed so perfect,
happy, nice, pretty, kind.
honest, in love, filled with respect.
Probably the best state of mind.
She was the first person you'd protect.
Given the chance, you'd help her unwind.
Little did you know what she thought at night.
About death and dying and being reborn.
About all things far from right.
How many people would come to mourn.
The coffin's cloth an ugly white,
the roses with their ugly thorn.
They finally take her body away,
I can't bear to see it.
Her parents will always remeber this day,
The day they realized she had actually quit,
They're still in shock, still in dismay.
How could she die from a little slit?
I'm sorry I lied, I didn't go.
They couldn't speak because...it was me they saw.
I would've-I could've- God,I don't know.
What would they have said if I showed them a flaw.
Life is a production, the final show.
