a poem about vietnam

My dad was in the vietnam war and he barely talks about it, i am interested in it, and i sometimes write poems..and i was in a mood to write this.. you will all probably think its dumb but here it is...

                       
WAR

when i looked at the childrens faces after i shot their father, I think back to my own childhood of happiness. I realized something like this has never happened to me and i never expected it to. I never had to worry about a soldier from a different country invading my private home to corrupt everything around me, and i thought about my own children and how they dont know the horrors that are going on over here... i realized i had to get away when i heard an anguished scream of one of the children, i ran and ran faster til i collapsed...my mind was racing, was i at war with a country or was i at war with my heart? i kept asking myself. Suddenly i heard a noise and my chest filled with pain...i thought back to my childhood and remembered the important things that ever happened and i finally realized as i closed my eyes for the last time, my children will now live through what the children back at the village lived through...the death of their father from war.



sorry if it is stupid but hey, i wanted to get it out.
