And I really liked her so
We met because our boyfriends were mates
We always went out on double dates
Gradually, as time progressed
We became friends - the very best
We did things like swim and shop
I thought our friendship would never stop
I told her my secrets and my dreams
Our friendship was thoroughly sealed at the seams
She told me her hopes and her fears
Together we cried our sobs and tears
And when me and my boyfriend were no more
Tracey was there with all her support
So many things we did and shared
We were always showing each other how much we cared
We chilled by day and partied by night
And then came along... our big fight
We were out with our friends having a good time
We were all so drunk, lager and lime
Tracey upset me, she said I lied
I knew I hadn't, and I stood and cried
Things just got out of control
And I felt betrayed in my soul
She left me that night, confused and alone
Drove off in a cab, on her way home
We were miles away from our home town
I had never felt so sad and so down
I had no choice, no other way
I had to call my ex, what should I say?
He drove to get me, took me home
Stayed with me so I wouldn't be alone
He was so understanding, and I was glad
That such a good friend in him I had
But the next day he turned his back
His betrayal to me I couldn't hack
He said he believed Tracey that I had lied
Then some months later, they apologised
Said they knew they had been wrong
Admitted their mistake, but they'd left it too long
I had new friends now, who'd made me see
My old friends should NEVER have doubted me
I had done no wrong yet suffered such loss
And they had not given a toss
But sometimes now, when I sit in thought
I remember that, before we fought
Tracey and I had been good friends
But I was wrong to think it would be till the end
We've spoken since then, in a friendly way
But theres really not much to say
I can't forget how much it hurt
The night she treated me as if I were dirt
